Why Choose Us
As the capital of Georgia and the county seat of Fulton County GA, Atlanta GA is an important hub for history, culture, and commerce. With a population of over six million, Atlanta is the biggest city in the state and the ninth most populous city in the United States, with many suburban areas including the edge cities of Cumberland GA, Dunwoody GA, and Sandy Springs GA, as well as suburbs like Alpharetta GA, Marietta GA, and Smyrna GA. When all these suburbs are counted, the greater Atlanta GA metropolitan area is considered the third largest metro area in the US Southeast behind Washington DC and Miami FL.The city is served by two US Interstate Highways, 20 and 75, as well as the MARTA public transportation system, which includes both rail lines and bus service.
Originally founded in 1837 at the terminus of the Western and Atlantic Railroad, from which it derives its name, the city soon grew into a transportation hub for the South as more railroads came through. After this rapid growth, Atlanta was famously burned to the ground by General Sherman during the Civil War, though it quickly rebuilt. In the middle of the 20th century, Atlanta moved past its history of slavery, becoming an organizing center for the Civil Rights Movement as the home of Martin Luther King and other leaders. The Coca-Cola company also began in Atlanta, and historically the city has been a major contributor to the culture of the American South and the country as a whole.
Visitors to Atlanta Georgia have a ton to see and do, including everything from historical sites to a state of the art zoo and aquarium, not to mention a thriving music scene and night life.
The large Georgia Aquarium, home to over 100,000 animals, is worth a visit, as well as Zoo Atlanta. Situated in Midtown Atlanta on famous Peachtree Street, the High Museum of Art showcases major artists in a beautiful historic building. The World of Coca-Cola museum celebrates the history of this popular beverage, but visitors can also discover history at Martin Luther King Jr National Historic Park. Tourists can also get a break from the city at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Piedmont Park, or Centennial Olympic Park.
